You’ll discover the main types and styles of wine through sight, smell, and taste. You’ll learn the basic skills to describe wines accurately, and how to pair food with wine. Upon successful completion you will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin. This course provides a solid foundation for moving onto Level 2.
This qualification requires a minimum of six hours of study time.

Exam details

The exam is made of up 30 multiple-choice questions.

Premier Wine Academy reserves the right to refuse to administer exams to in-person and online students who do not meet minimum grade, participation, or attendance requirements.

Exams must be taken within one year of completion of the course. If the exam is not completed in that timeline, students must resit the class (at a reduced price) or take a qualifying exam.

If a student signs up late (pass the published deadline) or ‘no-shows’ for an exam, Premier Wine Academy reserves the right to charge additional late/no show fees as set forth by WSET.

You must be 21 or older to sign up.
Cancellation / Refunds
No refunds are given for Level 1 cancellations with less than 15 days’ notice. Please contact Premier Wine Academy for the option of applying tuition toward a future class. Tuition includes a non-refundable $100 deposit. If Premier Wine Academy cancels the class, you will be given the option for a full refund or reschedule date.
