Paris is always a good idea…for the wine lover…I love Paris. I’ve visited Paris a few times a year, for more than 20 years. As a wine lover, I frequent wine stores, wine bars, and restaurants. I’ve been to the very famous touristy places, and I’ve been to the family owned places, where the locals go. Here is a short list of some of my favorite places.

The Eiffel Tower at night

The Eiffel Tower By Day
Beautiful spots to enjoy the view…
La Chaumiere
4 Rue Jean du Bellay
75004 Paris
Located behind Notre Dame on Isle St. Louis
Bar with good house wine and cocktails. In the winter, they make a fabulous Irish Coffee! They have good food, too. They are known for their mussels and for their French Onion Soup!!!

Champagne and white wine bottles chilling, in Paris
Wine Bars
O’Chateau
68 Rue Jean-Jacques Rousseau
75001 Paris
A fabulous wine bar that has a wine education focus. You can sign up for wine tastings and wine classes.

Willi’s Wine Bar
Willi’s Wine Bar
13 Rue de Petits Champs
75001 Paris
Located near the Louvre, but even closer to my favorite Parisian park near the Palais-Royal.
Great wine list. I had a fabulous glass of burgundy. I’ve also had a glass of very hard to find, Madeira, here.
Restaurants
La Forge
14 Rue Pascal
75005 Paris
A family-owned restaurant that I love. I’ve been going there for twenty years. I’ve never had a bad dish. Everything, including their desserts, are fabulous!
My Favorite Wine Store
Le Comptoir et les Caves Legrand
1 Rue de la Banque
75002 Paris
Fabulous wine store. I buy my favorite, Pierre Peters Champagne, there.
This wine store is very close to Willi’s Wine Bar.
Best sites to see
Clos Montmartre
You can see the grapes growing on the north side of Montmartre, near Sacre Coeur. The winery is in the basement of the city hall, therefore it is not available for tours.
The wine, made from the grapes grown in Montmartre, is available for purchase at the Museum of Montmartre. Price per bottle is 35 euros.
Musee de Montmartre
12 Rue Cortot
75018 Paris
15 euros entrance fee
5 euros for the gardens only
Open every day 10pm – 6pm
My Favorite Museums
Musee de l’Orangerie
Jardin d’Tuileries
75001 Paris
See Monet’s Water Lilies among other pieces of art, such as, some Picasso’s.
The Garden of the Rodin Museum
77 Rue de Varenne
75007 Paris
I prefer the garden, to the entire museum, in the summertime. It is beautiful.
Musee d’Orsay
Esplanade Valery Giscard d’Estaing
75007 Paris
Beautiful museum of impressionist art.
Musee Marmottan
2 Rue Louis Boilly

Located near the Bois de Boulogne park. A fabulous small museum of Monet paintings.
Favorite day trip from Paris
Monet’s Home, Giverny, FranceMaison et Jardins de Claude Monet – Giverny – Monet’s home
84 Rue Claude Monet
27620 Giverny
Only open late spring to fall, Giverny is the beautiful home and gardens where Monet painted the paintings of water lilies that you will see, in the Orangerie. Behind Giverny, there are a few small restaurants, perfect for a glass of wine and a snack, before you head back to Paris.
Before you take a trip to Paris you should sign up for a WSET Level 1 or WSET Level 2 class at Premier Wine Academy! We teach you how to read a french wine label and decipher a french wine menu! Understanding the French wine regions will make your trip to Paris much more enjoyable! Cheers!
